Chemo #1

Here's the scoop for chemo...
Steroids-  helps the chemo to be more effective
FolFox Chemo -

folinic acid (also called leucovorin, FA or calcium folinate)

fluorouracil (5FU)

oxaliplatin

Zofran-  helps with nausea

We've been here since 1 p.m. and it's now 3:30 p.m. We have another 3 1/2 hours to go...
It's a chemotherapy factory around here.  We're in a huge room with 18 recliners... three rows of six.  Across from the recliners are the office chairs.  Dan hangs out in the recliner while getting infused with all of the previously mentioned drugs.. I get the office chair.

It's going to be a long 6 months.  Maybe we'll decide to be done after 3 months.  I think it's only a 5% difference in the cure rate between 3 months and 6 months of treatment.  So far, I'm thinking this is not a fun way to spend our time.

I'm already looking forward to the celebration that will surely come when this is over.
