Life is moving forward...

It's mid February... Dan is settling in to his job in Yuba City.  It's a great job.  He loves it.  He loves the weather, the call schedule, the weather, the abundance of patients, the weather... haha.  You can see he really likes the weather!!  I have to admit, the weather is nice.
The big news is that we finally decided to buy a house in Yuba City.  We are closing on it next Friday.  It seems like it's a good decision.  We are buying this house for $338K and we sold the Stansbury house for $338K.  If we don't reinvest the money, we will have to pay 60% of our profits in capital gains taxes... so I think we're making the best decision.  This house has a pool which is bonus!!  Dan would like us to move there for the summer, but I'm not sure that will happen. I think we will be doing a lot of driving back and forth.  We didn't see Dan for a month.. between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  That was hard on everyone.  But since then we have traded off on going to see each other.  I went out a few weeks ago with Julie (Hendricks) to look at the house Dan wants to buy.  We like the house enough that we're going to buy it..  Dan was on call and had to work everyday but Julie and I went to some antique stores and to a super cute town called Grass Valley.  We bought a king bed at the Salvation Army and painted it white for the master bedroom.
Dan came home last weekend for Jacob's birthday and to see his oncologist.  He has some tingling and numbers in his hands and feet.  It's not bad enough that it impedes his ability to work, but it definitely makes him nervous that it will get worse.  As long as it doesn't get worse, it will be okay.  Dr. Gray thinks it will resolve and has Dan taking high doses of B vitamins and Glutamine powder.  Dan is home again this weekend.  I'm flying out on Thursday to close on the house.  We definitely see each other but it's still not the same as living in the same house.  But we're adjusting to the new normal.
